Driver's License: Once you move and are a permanent resident, you have 60 days to change your license from wherever you were to where you are now. Change of address form HERE. You will need to appear in person, have your social security card, pay $2.50, and take a written test (no, not a road test). You will also surrender your old drivers license. You are required to burn your headlights in the rain. You are required to properly secure your children in a certified child carseat. Right turn on red after stop is allowed. Cameras at major intersections take photographs of your license plate if you run a red; they send a ticket and a bill by mail. Charlotte police, while mostly friendly, are notoriously unforgiving; be warned.
